The Kumarajiva Project of Khyentse Foundation, together with CBETA, is hosting an event that will bring together experts and scholars to explore how the collaboration between translation teams, scholars, and engineers can pave the way for the Buddha's wisdom to guide the future of Buddhist AI technology, and empower all Dharma teachers who are tirelessly propagating the Dharma and benefiting sentient beings. We also hope to discuss how to provide more tools for Dharma friends who wish to study the Buddhist texts in depth.
In this workshop, we are honored to have Prof. Peter Skilling, an internationally renowned scholar of Sanskrit, Pali, and Tibetan Buddhist texts, as our guest speaker for a special lecture on the topic of "Cross-Cultural Translation." We are also delighted that Venerable Huimin, CEO, and Prof. Jenjou Hung, Executive Director of the CBETA Foundation, known globally for their significant contributions to the digitization of Chinese Buddhist texts over the years, will share with us the future direction of CBETA and its potential applications in the field of AI.
In addition, Ngwang Trinely, a French Buddhist data engineer, will present the latest advancements in automated translation of Tibetan and English Buddhist texts, with discussions on the importance of training the Chinese Buddhist data in the future. Lastly, Prof. Sherab Chen, the editor of the Kumarajiva Project, will introduce the Kumarajiva Tibetan-Chinese Aligned Corpus Project, and discuss the importance of this work for the translation of Buddhist texts and machine training.
We cordially invite all Dharma friends who are interested in these topics to join us on the morning of October 12th, either online or in person, as we collectively brainstorm for the future of the Dharma.
